Grand Haven Area Arts Council hires new Executive Director

recently hired a new executive director to implement artistic and cultural programs
that caters to the needs of its market.

Press Release Body: In an effort to strengthen its presence in the community and
widen its support base, the Grand Haven Area Arts Council (GHAAC) recently announced
the appointment of Luchi Pretta Nelson as its part-time executive director. Nelson
was selected following an extensive and thorough search process with a pool of very
highly qualified candidates.

David Lewis, chairman of the Grand Haven Area Arts Council board says "We are
fortunate to have been competitively selected by the Michigan Council for Arts and
Cultural Affairs (MCACA) to receive grant funds allowing us to hire a director with
the skill sets Luchi has. With her hiring, the GHAAC can grow in its capabilities
to best commit to and serve art programming and education in our Tri Cities
community."

Pretta Nelson. "My vision is to see the Grand Haven Area Arts Council establish
arts and cultural programs that reflect the community's appreciation for beauty and

Luchi Pretta Nelson was formerly Sales & Marketing Manager for Ayala Land, Inc., the
biggest real estate developer in the Philippines, managing two mixed-used
residential development. She has held numerous volunteer and leadership positions
in various non-profit and marketing organizations. Nelson also served as part-time
faculty in the Communication Department of Assumption College and in the College of
Arts and Sciences of the University of San Carlos, both leading educational
institutions in the Philippines.

Ms. Nelson's expertise lies in her more than 11 years of sales & marketing
management experience. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications from the
University of San Jose Recoletos.
